Possible to host on a website?

How do i host a server on my website?! Or is it impossble?

Wow, this must be the 20th time i heard this question. Maybe it should be included in the FAQ.

Anyways, here we go again:

No, unless you have shell access which is rather unlikely if you're in a shared webhosting situation i should add. Then you could download the TS server in the appropriate OS version and install it. Otherwise all you can do is ask your webhoster nicely and if that fails use one of the public servers or rent your own.

ooo.... i dont really under steand o_o.. whats shell access, but this is my own website, its not like geocities or angelfire stuff

hmm shell acces is only on unix like system .. or ?
I'd think u need to leave more info about the webb site an config to let anyone help u out

On windows you have the terminal server which is nearly the same (just a graphical version).
