Ughh Router Probs!

I have had many problems with my router i cant host or anything i Enabled the DMZ port and i Customized the windows_server so i could enter it in under the other port forwardings and still nothing works i only can connect to the LAN IP and I want to be ablem to connect to the WAN IP i have no idea what to do i forwarded TSER(The Customized name of Windows_server)and still it just says the router IP....

it says an ip???

notice that most routers block loopback traffic to your wan-ip... that means for local servers you'll need to connect to your lan-ip while your friends have to connect to your router's wan-ip.

still it's highly recommended to read the router's manual... we can't provide help for every single router out there, especially not if the asking person doesn't specify which one. And I'd bet everything is described in there... you'll just need to forward port 8767 udp-traffic to your ts-server's lan-ip. How to do that... --> router's manual ;)

btw: that should work with NAT as well (and is better than dmz in most cases)

Well i can do that with other programs but i just dont see how it works with TS server.....

Satan's right (how many times have you heard someone say that? :p If you've been around my friends, plenty): it depends on your router. Most routers have the ability to forward ports to specific IP Addresses. If you're using a Linksys, for instance, you would need to know the IP Address of the machine which is running the server (Windows 2K and XP folks can just do Start->Run->cmd then type in "ipconfig" to find out the info), and then you need to access the router's admin screen. That's usually via a web browser. Check out your router's documentation for details. If you've lost the documentation, check out the manufacturer's website--usually they have electronic versions available online.
