View Full Version : 2003 Server
I've installed TS2 on our 2003 server and when I can get connected it works great. Problem is sometimes ther server will respond to a connect but mostly it will not. The server does have multiple IP (but I use the BoundToIp= but from the descriptions I've read that souldn't matter since it listens on one port) and have the same intermittent connect issues no matter which IP I've used.
Any suggestions where I might start looking? Is TS2 reated for 2003 SBS server?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

what does your client's debug log say?
what does the server log provide?
(suggestion: read the forum rules ...)

Do you run it just as an application or as a Windows service?
I run the TS2 server as an application not a service. Compounding the problem now is that the admin console won't come up (page not found). Looks like TS2 uses http:\\localhost:port for the console and the server has that blocked so I may need to dig in there. Odd since I did access the console just after the install. Okay, another unistall-reinstall on the way and I'll see if I can find those logs. :p
Here's the update: Unistalled TS2. Deleted app directory. Re-installed. Attempted connect on outside IP, failed. Attempted connect on inside IP ... connected (3 times). Attempted connect on outside IP again ... connected (6 times). Much like before I could connect at first (sort of) but later had lots of trouble (irratic). I'll attempt connects in about an hour or so and see how she's behaving then.
ok instead of http:/localhost you can use your lan Ip-address.
furthermore, do I understand you correctly that you try to connect from within your LAn with both the internal and the external (wan-) address?
your description of that part is not very clear to me
The server has two networks cards. One card has a WAN IP (i.e. which is visible to the internet) while the other card has a LINE IP (which connects to out office LAN). TS2 will be used over the WAN, but I can test the functionality of TS2 over either.
Okay. Tested it this A.M. again. Results: Unable to connect via WAN IP. Able to connect via LAN IP. Unable to connect via WAN IP. Alble to connect via LAN IP. Able to connect via WAN IP. Able to connect via WAN IP.
There is goes again. Seems like connecting via LAN can (sometimes) wake up the WAN side (for some time).
