Can hear but can't speak

My problem is that while I can hear my voice coming out of my speakers when I speak into my mic, I my voice doesn't transmit.

I have a P4 1.4mHz, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card. I'm guessing the situation might not be with the client because I cannot record my voice on the Windows Recorder. I also can't record my voice within the TS client. So I think the problem is hardware related but in case there is a client based solution I'm asking here. I have tried switching between Wave and direct sound settings. If you have any advice, I would appreciate it. While the client is enabled I can hear my teammates conversation but I can't join in.

There is something about the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz having a hardware bug in the FAQ Forum.

Anyway, your problem may also result from invalid mixer settings.
