View Full Version : Break ups?
Prophecy

We got the TS 2.0 running on a windows xp. We have noticed that while playing the game MOHAA there is a frequent break up. I have had everyone update there sound drivers, switch to wave sound instead of Direct.
Why are we having this issue? I mean we adjusted the codecs to windows 5.2 and tried 14.8 kbit as well
We dont like how TS makes everyone sound like a robot so we uped the Kbit but now everyone breaks up.
Any ideas or is this how its going to be?

My gaming community has also just finished converting over to the new TeamSpeak2 and we are all having problems with choppy broken up speech over TS2 while in game, specifically Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. All members have reinstalled DirectX 8.1 (for those that it applies to). Note: WindowsXP users don't need to install DirectX because it's already integrated into the OS. All have reinstalled their sound drivers. We have tried using 16.4, CELP 5.1 and windows 5.2 and none of them show any improvement. None of us had any problems with TeamSpeak 1.5 client via our 1.2 TS Server but with the new TS2.....we are having many difficulties. We love the program and it's rich features but if we can't speak to eachother while in game....then it's not serving it's purpose. I'm sure you guys are working to resolve these problems but there are a lot of frantic teamspeak users out there that are going to start getting very impatient very soon.
TS2 works just fine for all of us while not in game but as soon as we get into the game, it all goes south. People in game can't make out anything said by TS2 users in game or out but people using TS2 outside the game can understand all whether in game or not.
I hope that you guys can provide the Team Speak community with some helpful information on how to resolve this issue very soon.
Thanks!

Settings/options/other/Priority set to realtime and everything is fine
Maybe helpfull for others:
Had the same problem with Soldier of Fortune 2, but setting the priority to Realtime alone didn't fix it for me (but it did for my clanm8s).
I only got the sound smooth by setting sound driver to Wave AND priority to Realtime.

YES.....I've read the "FAQ". I've also read through all of the forums here and tried every tip and trick listed....in addition to all tricks and ideas that myself and the other leaders of my gaming team can think of and two of us working on the problem are seasoned IT guys. I'm confident that if there is a solution to be found, we will eventually find it but for right now this is driving us nuts. We have switched from "Direct Sound" to "Wave" and also switched it from "Normal" to "Real Time" but the choppy broken speech is still there "In-Game". Our team members became so frustrated, we brought our TeamSpeak server back up on version 1.22 and instructed them all to reinstall TS Client version 1.5
Three of us plan to keep testing and troubleshooting the TS2 problems until we resolve the issue or until the developers at TS come out with a patch or release an RC2.
I'll close by saying to the team at TeamSpeak, you guys are doing a hell of a job. TS2 looks great and has awesome features. It does indeed work fantastic "Out of game".....but in-game is where we need it most and for right now.....2.0 just don't cut it.

Unless i'm talking about a different FAQ then you are, there's nothing about choppy sound playback in there.
Must be a different FAQ then... or dyslexic... Or aliens secretly change the content only for you! Have a pick!

Not to start anything with you man but thats bullshit. Im sure most ppl posting here have read the damn FAQ and if I didnt read the CS post even though we dont play CS I wouldnt have known about the Real Time fix.
Thats 3 different posts saying "Read the FAQ" even though the orignal posters question wasnt covered in the FAQ.
Thought we were supposed to be HELPING each other here, not insulting one's intelligence?

I will indulge myself in some reply here:
After installling the server, you get a nice screen starting with "IMPORTANT" which explains how to get the server password. Also there is a README.txt in the install dir.
Guess how many people asked me on irc what the admin password was?
What grimm does is not insulting, but saving himself a lot of time. My experience in this forum is that 80% of the questions are the same. People just dont know how to use the search function.
I am glad the first thing you do is read the faq. That is how it should be and it releaves the forum dwellers of answering the same question for the 100.000th time. But sadly you are not the mayority :)

OK this may be a patronising post, but, check your TS2 settings>input/ouput> output settings are not set to high, this causes distortion of voices (well it did for me anyway).
