Okay, here is the deal:
After a lot of messing around with my ports, i think i configured them right. I have a SMC 7404 Bra (4 ports router/modem) in whicn you have the 'virtual server' and the 'special aplications' option. Both of them i have the 8765(UDP) and 8766 (TCP) and it seems to work.

My server does show up on the list of servers, it's called SoD Clan Server, it's a clan server, it's country = the netherlands. I think everyone should be able to connect, so that does include me right? So i tried to connect using 'quick connect' and it workt :)

BUT: when i use 'connect' instead of 'quick connect' it says:"
No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it"

Does anyone know why it doesn't work?

Ow, and i just found out: When i change the name of the server from SoD into |SoD| it doesn't who up in the list of servers! When i chance it back, it works again!

thx for reading this!

you try to connect with the internal or external IP, from within the LAN you should use the LAN-ip, like 192.168.xxx.xxx

Maybe the above info was a bit unclear?
problems:
-can't change the name of the server into |SoD|, because then it doens't show up in the server list
-when name is SoD it does show up in the list, but can't join becuase i get the error

Another thing: When configuring the part 'spcecial aplications' of my router, i also have to fill 1 the trigger 2 public ports
Should these be 8765 UDP and 8766 TCP ???

Ok, hope anyone can answer now?

!h, great, a reply!

Well, that is a good point, the IPs! When i start the server and clikc on 'your ips' it shows me 2 ip: 192.168.2.121 (computer) and 81.205.23.135...
When i use 'quick connect' i get into the server using my admin and password, then it says: Server IP: :8767 (192.168.2.121:8767)"

When i use connect and see my server in the list, the ip name given is "81.205.23.135:8767"

This probably has to do with my prob, but i don't know how to solve it.
By the way: yesterday it DID work! My public ports was then somehting like 1024-65535 as an UDP. I was able, and so was my mate, to connect to the server. But after i did it, our internet connection did not work anymore, on all computers it didn't!

So, maybe it has to do with UDP/TCP settings, but what are the right ones?

I appreciate any help!

OK, by the looks of it you should be ok is you use the inernal IP too if you use the "connect" option. Remember, inside your LAN always use the intern (ie 192. etc) address)

Let some one from the outside try to connect to check your router settings

ports should be UDP

You Have A Proxy Your Connection IP Changes Each Day Easy Fix Re Route your IP To The Alpha Drive You Should find it in Network Connections and The Alpha Drive will tell you the ip and your proxy ip database go into that and select Internal IP CANCEL Then Select Apply then go into it again But this time Click EXTERNAL IP PROXY ENABLE Doing This Reroutes your IP To not Use proxy on Hosted Information

don't try to connect to your external ip when using a router, as these will block all loopback traffic in most cases... for yourself you'll need to connect to your local-ip-addresses.

Also notice that most internet-providers will use dynamic ips, so whenever your router reconnects, your ip will change.

thx for all the reactions!

I guess it will work, have to try once, but none of my friends with TS is online right now.
But when i understand it all well, it basicly is impossible to connect to you server using the external ip, when using a router...
If this is correct, then it is obvious that i cannot connect....

AND by the way: i guess i solved my other problem, which was that i couldn't change the server name into |SoD| Clan Server, but now i can! Don't realy know what the problem was, but i do know that my server is now called '|SoD| Clan'
I guess it had to do with only adding two '|' and that that is not seen as a real change, because i also didn't get the ' operation successfully server config has been changed CONTINUE ' message!

So, if other people are able to see my server and able to get into it, i will tell you all by posting another reply!

Guys, other people are not able to connect to my server, getting the same "No reply from server Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it"

So, what is the prob? I don't get it. By the way, i think i have all the times the same IP adress (external), so no 'dynamic? ip' or anything like that.

Maybe it still has to do with my router configuration...
i don't get it, anyway, i do know that it doens't work

And also i didn't quite understand what vanu wrote down, so i didn't use that information....

HELP HELP HELP PLS!!

yeah spotted that specific port number but was under the impression that was done on purpose
