could it be that there are some leading zero's in the IP,if yes you can ignore them pretty much

Like 192.168.001.001 can als be represented like 192.168.1.1
The same goes for the subnet-masks

You are indeed a crazy ..., look through all the forums. Every newbie is helped and assisted extensively, if they give enough information about their problems. There is a guideline about this in the forum rules.

Only total n00bs on the level of "how do I start my computer" or "I must have a computer somewhere in the house, can anyone tell me how something like that looks, 'cause I want to install TS server on Linux using ony the commandline interface" are very kindly asked to check back later. This also goes for people who are too lazy to do anything themselves other than put a shout in the forums and then expecting a whole army of specialist knocking on their door within 10 minutes to silve their problems for them

LOL, that's one to be keept for the to funny section of this forum.
Sorry, not personaly, but this one is realy too good to be true :p

Since you have a cable access I highly guess you have a NAT access => according the Server manual which you should have look through, you need a port forwarding in this case.

Your friend with a 56K will have not a NAT access so his server is without a firewall open to the WWW (and so to you). But: hosting a server behind a 56K is not a very good idea as you probably will have bandwith problems.

=>
- read the TS manuals
- do some basic search for networking in the www (there are lots of good informations) as I have the strong feeling you don't know much about networking ???
- you can also search for port forwarding in this forum
- you'll need to check your router forum to learn how to setup this with your specific one.

sorry, but we won't repair your car just for fun as well... ok?

I can see that you aren't willing to put any effort into solving your problem. And yes, the problem doesn't have anything to do with TeamSpeak, it's more like a self-made one.
If you're using hardware like a router then you should know how to configure it. If you don't, this will automatically end in problems.

When it comes to computers most people think "I don't have to know too much about it, I'm not a nerd"...
Do you jump out of airplanes without a parachute?
Do you go diving without knowing how to swim?
Do you shower without water?

So why do you use a computer without knowing at least the basics about the hardware?
But nope, that's not the end... you even expect us to waste our time to give you a step-by-step explanation how to solve your specific problem.
On the one hand that's impossible for us, as you successfully got around the forum-rules and on the other hand this is the wrong place, as this is no router-forum.

So please take my advice... if you don't want to put any effort into such things yourself, then you'll have to pay others to do so. Yes, we provide support for free, but we have to expect a certain niveau, which isn't reached by this thread at all. So either you start reading at least the forum-rules AND OBEY THEM, as we need much more information than what you provide or you can go to the Rent a Server (http://www.teamspeak.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=TeamSpeak_Hoster&file=index) link on www.teamspeak.org and rent a server for money...
If you don't like any of these two options: feel free to try any other voicecom and be convinced that the server won't work without any configuration.

The way he's asking is like calling your local cardealer on the phone and say : My car won't start, what's wrong with it.

And mispunt :

It looks like Dutch
It sounds like Dutch

So it must be Dutch ;)
