I have a SpeedStream 2624 Wireless Router. I love this router, it is a great router, and I need wireless conectivity for my laptop...
Now searching through previous posts I found that other SpeedStream users have come accross the issue of users outside the router being disconnected within 2 seconds of logging in, and the general outcome is that the people give up and it seems they are satisfied with the answer: SpeedStream routers just aren't compatible with the software.
I have the latest firmware on my router, I am running the latest public release of speedstream, and yes, I've already tried the developers release.
The problem is NOT port forwarding, I have ofcourse already done that, I have even tried DMZ hosting. I then tried another older router I have (US Robotics), used the same port forwarding settings and everything worked like a charm. The problem is as first stated in this post, I love and need to use my SpeedStream router. I don't want to have to buy another wireless router because of a conflict with this software.
My question is surely someone can tweak the code to stop having this conflict, I am guessing it is some kind of fake UDP timeout issue, as it tells outside users they are timed out upon connecting. I can connect through TeamSpeak through LOCAL ip obviously because it isn't going through the router then, but I get timed out myself (of course) connecting through the WAN ip. I can run a TeamTalk server, and I can talk through AIM, but clearly these are inferior by FAR to the power and sleekness of TeamSpeak. Any devs out there who can try to alleviate this problem? Anyone with a possible workaround? And before anyone mentions packet filtering, thats all stopped, and I've even turned off all security settings and DoS protection to no avail. The problem is with the software, not that it is a problem, it seems to be more of a conflict of sorts with how/how often UDP is being used or something and the SpeedStream series of routers.
PLEASE HELP! I love TeamSpeak, and as an avid DesertCombat player, it is a must, and I really want to host a server for my clan!
