the TeamSpeak client - unlike the GameVoice client - doesn't come with an included server-version. This means that you'll always need a server-version to host, so to say a meeting point. 2 clients can't connect to each other without a server.
The reason behind is: we want to keep server and client strictly seperated from each other. The server is able to run without any interface, while the client will need one. Especially on linux-servers this becomes useful.
Still there shouldn't be any problem: you can download the server-version and host a server for free as long as you obey the server's license agreement (which doesn't say much more than: you aren't allowed to host a server for free if that's combined with a commercial action in any way.). So for private usage it's free. Just download the server-version (from www.teamspeak.org / downloads), install it and run (it doesn't even need any setup as the default settings are well chosen :) )
Still your firewalls need to be configured correctly.
If you don't like that thought of hosting your own server and you think that's way too complicated: you can use any server that isn't passworded, just click connection / connect in your ts-client and go to your web serverlist. There you'll find a whole couple of servers that are currently running ;)
If you don't like those servers you can choose one of our own servers: voice.teamspeak.org:8767 (teamspeak://voice.teamspeak.org:8767) ; voice.teamspeak.org:10050 (teamspeak://voice.teamspeak.org:10050) ; voice.teamspeak.org:10060 (teamspeak://voice.teamspeak.org:10060) , create your own passworded channel and talk with your brother.
have fun, cu
