View Full Version : I can connect to my server but no one else can
I have a UStec router and a webstar cable modem. When i go on my server on my ip on my computer which changes it works to get on the server but when i go on to my other ip which is the one on my servers list and find it on there and its ip 24.205.227.156 and i click on it says the server may be offline or not running on it. But the whole time it works on my other ip, so I have no clue what to do please help!!!!!!!!!
hard to understand your post:
when connecting from within your LAN to your server, only use the LAN IP.
User from the WAN have to use the WAN IP but you need probably a port forwarding (read the server manual and los use the search function for this key word).
i still do not understand how port fowarding works and what it does so im still kind of confused
have read Mr Werensteijn help to log in and he tell that in server.ini in the sktion [mainconfig] there are a option boundip where I have to write my IP.
I have tried to do that.
I also have read in FAQ how to setup ts server.
BUT it dosenīt work
In server settings in administration, there are two where to put ip:
Server webpost posturl:
server webpost linkurl:
What shall I write her ??
I have tried to write my IP in both, and change boundIP as told, but when I do that, I canīt connect to administration.
When I open my TS client -> web server list, I can find my server by searching but no one can join it.
The only reply I and others get is no reply from server maybe server is offline....... and so on
I have my PC on a router (two PC on it)and have tried both IP adress.
If I request my ip on www.myip.com it tell me my IP, and I have tried to use that IP
Can you help me ??
I think it is the same prob we have both of us
port forwarding is described in 100 or 1000 post in this forum, so please do a search and try to get the information yourself.
Alos consult your access device manual for how to set it up.
BoundToIP: you only use if you want to have your server bound to and specific IP interface. Most user do not have more then one interface so leave this one open.
webpost url/.. you only need if you use the webpost script (See specific Forum section for more info).
Again, DO NOT use your WAN IP to connecto from within your LAN (by using the weblist you use your WAN IP !!).
To get people from the WAN to your server, configure the port forwarding in your router !
Yes, you both have the same problem.
Remember, this is a TS forum, not a router forum, so this is not the first place were you should discuss router specific problems like how do I setup port forwarding in my router. E.g. www.broadbandreports.com should be able to help you faster.
However you may try searching your router model in this forum, there are threads for some routers.
give us some more router info, like which one are you using and how did you portforward UDP 8767?
I am sorry I gave up.
I really didnīt understand.
I have read and read in this forum, and tried a lot.
Anyway I can tell you that my admin tell me 8767 and I canīt change it. If I do I canīt connect to serveradministration.
Because of that I canīt postforward anything
My router is a allnet ALL1294A, but no one can join as told
I followed, as I wrote, server setup, and I tried to bound, but with no succes.
I know I do something wrong, but what I donīt know.
I will use a public server, when I have to use TS with my buddies.
