Seems to work good for chatting. The sound settings needed to be set alot higher than TS1.5

Game play - Choppy sound

As I test more I'll post more.

The "Server" is on my Win2k Advance server running SP2.

Sounds to me like you got it install improperly . Try to reinstall & make sure to move the old version before you install as it might just overwrite & not correct the problem . Also moving will allow you to revert back in the event you want to .

Could anyone please help me?
I got a AC'97 with WinXP, and when I talk, a really weird sorta-banging sound is all that gets thru. I tested it in local test mode, and it's horrible!
I think I tried about anything, but nothing works! If I change codec, just the pace of the sound differs. What to do?!

I finally solved the problem!
There was this something in the MoBo configuration that caused the huge noise. Glad I got rid of that...
Thanks for the help, m&m's, u made me think further than just the teamspeak&volume settings!

For Users with the AC97 Audio and VIA chipset, I have found updating the individual audio drivers seems to solve alot of the problems. VIA seems to be aware of some issues and has created updated drivers outside of the hyperion updates. The following link will take you to the WIN 2000 driver page. The drivers are matched with the MOBO southbridge, find this out before proceeding to the link ( an easy program to find this information is CPUID - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/wcpuid.html ).

Audio Driver Page:

http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=2

(If the above link fails go to www.viaarena.com - choose downloads -> drivers -> choose OS -> Then Audio)

** PS - We also have noticed other individuals having poor or woobling noise have improved their mic quality by adjusting the CODEC inside the channel **

Hope this helps...

I cant get any kind of sound record from Teamspeak. I have onboard AC'97, and i can record in sound recorder fine. Can anyone tell me if I have to set something specific in order to voice recorder on teamspeak?

Ok, I've had Teamspeak and now teamspeak 2 for a long time and have always been able to troubleshoot my problems. Now I need some help. I have a MSI K7N2 Delta 2 platinum mobo with onboard AC97 audio. I keep my drivers up to date using MSI's Live Update program with my current driver being 5.10.0.5750. I have used m&m's advice and checked my audio properties and found nothining wrong.
Before I updated my driver and installed service pack 2 I didn't have any problems and used it often while playing with HALO team. I rolled back my realtek driver to see if that would solve my problem without success, which leads me to believe it's a problem with service pack 2. Any suggestions or others with the same problem?

I tried to get my VIA AC 97 to work for weeks. Then I bought a new cheap soundcard and all the trouble is gone.

Don't even try to get it to work, or you might end up in a psychiatry. ;)

I know im not a idiot, i ran cpuid, and it does not say what one is the south bridge ect.. im using a m7vig 400 rev 7.1 MB from biostar, socket a, and that program only showed me info on my CPU which is AMD. It didnt show a single thing about the bridges, and i am using onbaord sound, with the ac97 drivers, and having serious issues.

I have been using TS for a long time now and worked thru many issues. The codec does not effect my sound, i can run wave or direct. And i get a buzzing sound really loud in the background that gets louder the longer i key my mic up.

I have run thru my recording settings and all are off or turned all the way down with MIC only picked to be on. I have mic muted in the playback side. So the feedback seems to me to be a conflict of a driver somewhere, maybe in TS maybe not. But if you are going to post info on programs to help us, could you be kind enough to explain what to look for?!
