Can you run headphones and speakers?

I was just wondering if you can run a communicator headset that just has teamspeak on it, and also run the regular game with my desktop speakers? If you can.. how do you set it up...

You may be in luck!

Today I had a great idea after looking in the settings. It has an option to choose your output device (the soundcard teamspeak outputs to).

I have onboard sound on my motherboard which I wasn't using. So I enabled it, plugged the earphone plug on my headset into the motherboard line out socket and the mic into the mic socket in my Sound Blaster.

In the options I chose input as my Sound Blaster (where the mic is plugged in) and the output to my motherboard sound (where the earpiece is plugged in)

It works perfectly! I play Battlefield 1942 and the sound comes out of my 5.1 surround speakers and I can hear people talking to me in my earpiece!
