Ive been hosting a server and its great, but everytime i reboot i get a different IP address...i know there is a way to keep the same IP, someone was telling me about hosting from a web address. can someone explain to me how you can host a server and keep the same IP even after rebooting, or how to host from a website.

1: get linux, dont reboot :)
2: Find an isp who gives you a stable ip adress. (some isp's give that for a few buck extra a month)
3: hosting from a website usualy requires some basic knowledge about unix (linux) systems and a login account. If you dont know what i am talking about, this is not yet for you :)

There is any easy way to do this that costs no money at all. Goto changeip.com and create an accout and choose a free domain. Now find a peice of software called direct update, this will connect to the DNS records and update you domain with a new ip address every time the ip on your machine changes. Now connect to your ts server with the domain instead of the IP address!

www.dyndns.org does the same, but look at the age of the post you were replying to ;)
