Ok I know can set up different channels with different levels of codecs but is it possible to set up one channel with a different codec for different people?

The reason I ask this is I use a small ts2 server from home, which I can run about 30 people on the highest codec no problems, having a 1mb SDSL line :)

However a friend of mine is on 56k and if he tries to talk to us using the 25k codec he goes "Hello...bzzzt..... how......bzzzt.... you.....bzzzzt... ing bzzzttttt.... s?"

I mean he can listen in alright, albeit it doesn't sound as clear to him as we do to each other, but I'm having to lower the codec of the entire room to accomodate him.

I'm running an older version of the server but I don't wanna reinstall unless this feature has been added and I don't know about it :D

Cheers for any help, or any response :)

as far as i know it's not possable.

but it never could be possable, because when a 5kb/s user send something to a 25kb/s user the 25 kb/s user would have a very unclear sound, and when a 25 kb/s user talks to a 5kbs user the server has to downsample it. which needs a better CPU if you want to do this for many users.

what you could do is create a lower codec channel and all hop into that channel if he is online. or let him buy a real internet connection. who wants to play online on a modem anyway... having a ping resonds of 100 or even higher...
