Hey guys,

i have a mate who is trying to connect to a server i have running but he is getting the following error

02-04-04 17:44:41,1640,ERROR,ProcedureInfo,Client Open,Exception: Timeout on recv LoginStep2

I know the server works as i have many other people connecting to it. I have used the port 3785 because some were unable to use the default, which i thought would fix the problem. However, for 1 person it hasnt.

What confuses me even more is that they are able to use Ventrilo on port 3784 so i set a TS server to use that port as well, but still the same error.

Whenever they try to connect it always says "disconnected" in the bottom corner as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions as i would like to migrate all my voice coms over to TS since this new version works with my FreeBSD server i have access to.

Cheers
Jon

*edit after seeing another similar post.
OS = XP
Version = 2.0.32.60
they can ping the server
have tried using the IP of the server rather than the name.
they have no firewall.

LaughingJon,

Sounds like a firewall issue on the client end.

ok i have tried everything but still there are 2 members of my clan who are unable to connect to TS.

I have checked the firewall situation. The 1 person who was using zonealarm has tried disabling it, no joy, he got that socket error which i searched here for (DNS probs apparently) so told him the IP address. Still no joy.

The 2nd person simply cant connect at all. No matter what we try.

but what makes this even more strange is that both can connect and use Ventrillo.. :s

Any one have anything else i can try?

*edit.. looks like i am not alone with this problem actually :eek:
