View Full Version : CA to move people to other channels

Is there a way to get members with CA to move other members to other channels? There are people I don't want to give SA to, but have the need to move people into other channels (ie. during matches/practices for captains).

I'd really like this feature and if you know how to do it, please let me know. Thank You.

Just open the permissions system in the webadmin interface, and change the properties of "Channel Admin" :).

I do not believe there is an option to allow people with CA to move other people into other channels.

CA
- ChannelCreateSubchannels
- ChannelCreateModerated
- ChannelDelete
- ChannelEditName
- ChannelEditPassword
- ChannelEditTopic
- ChannelEditDescription
- ChannelEditOrder
- ChannelEditMaxUsers
- ChannelEditCodec
- PrivilegeGrantCA
- PrivilegeGrantAutoOp
- PrivilegeGrantOp
- PrivilegeGrantAutoV
- PrivilegeGrantV
- PrivilegeRevokeCA
- PrivilegeRevokeAutoOp
- PrivilegeRevokeOp
- PrivilegeRevokeAutoV
- PrivilegeRevokeV
- SendTextToAll
- SendTextToOwnChannel
- SendTextToPlayer
- KickPlayerFromServer
- KickPlayerFromChannel
- AllowChannelCommanderStatus

Ah right sorry,

it is a global privileges only option...so your best shot would be to missuse "R" for your purposes (only let people that should be able to move register).

No other way I take it. W ehave everyone register, because this way they can move to other channels. It's a clan TS so we don't want everyone being able to mvoe to different channels that are for members.

We also get a bunch of lame kids coming in sometimes and messing around with people in TS.

I'd really like an option maybe in a future release or addon to allow a sub SA type of group. Maybe a TSA as the SA and SA as a sub admin. Or even permissions based on every registered player. Just an idea, I wonder who I can suggest this to. I doubt it'd get implemented though.

Let's say it again. It sounds so good:

"With TS 3"

Or with a few more words: TeamSpeak 3 comes with a brand new permission system and this should allow custom groups.

Any ETA on TS 3?

TeamSpeak does not support terrorists. *rofl*

Ok, the ETA is "when it's done". ;)

whatever!

It doesn't support terrorists? Is that why there is no ETA? Maybe you should let someone else work on it. Then we can get an ETA quicker. Or leave Iraq. :D

Then again, there is always Ventrillo. ;)

Hi all,

For my less well informed American compatriots...

ETA could be "Estimated Time of Arrival"

But, in this case a joke was being made here concerning the:
Euskadi Ta Askatasuna, the militant, nationalist, separatist group in Spain's Basque region which has been rather active in it's bombing campaigns lately.

Just a little more information for you who don't have "google", "Euskadi Ta Askatasuna" is roughly translated into english as "Basque Homeland and Liberty".

Thank You pbarrette for clearing that up for everyone that didn't know, including myself, about the Spanish ETA.

guldi, why slap, you like Iraq? ;)

Well I just can't wait for TS3 at this point. Maybe there'll be other cool features as well that are missing there now. I guess we just have to wait until "when it's done". Kind of a Microsoft's moto.

I think it's because this is a technical support forum and not a politics forum.

I too would prefer if the involved people take the politics to another place.

Well we know who the "Brain" of the operations here is. :D

You are right though, sorry about that.

Does anyone have an estimated time of delivery of TS3? Or is there a possibility that there can be an update to the current v2 with the changed permission system?

No, not really. Do your research better before you say things :P - the "when it's done" development cycle is the path of many free time (none commercial) projects, simply because we (not like commercial software developers) only release a version when we have it exactly the way we want it to be, and especially not just because the manager is chasing us to release something.
The Microsoft motto is the one where you get half arsed software because the manager says "gezus guys, we have to realease it, finish up by next week", and I am personally very proud that we here do NOT follow such a path.

Well that comment was not actually directed at you guys in any way... I think you may have misunderstood what I was trying to say. It was a smirk at Microsoft. They make billions for what they produce, you guys don't. We all appreciate what you are doing for us.

And yes, I do research things before I say them. (Most of the time, I read your sig, didn't I?)

And about Microsoft, I deal with their servers every friggin day. So, there is defenitely some hatred towards them on my behalf. (Brain will kill me for this post, so SHHHHH.)

Back to the topic: Nothing on a possible addon for the permissions portion of the program?

My heartfelt condolences. What crime did you commit to deserve such an inhuman punishment? ;)
