Hi lads...

I need some help please. I am a member of a CS clan and we use Team Speak all the time for in game or for general chat (Cheaper than phone)

Anyways we have got a server at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9037

Well I can seem to connect at all always give me the following error code..

Bad Login (name and/or password wrong)

I have tried even other people's id and it does the same.
I am running XP, Nortan Firewall 2003.

I have tried many things, NTL have said they do not ban port 9037, nothing on my pc is using that port, and that port has not been banned by th Firewall..

So if anyone can help please please please help me...

PS. I think their are now 3 of us in the clan with this problem.... but we all have different I.Providers, Op Systems, and sound cards....

Thanks

George

Hi zhghmcc,

If you recieve a message stating "Bad Login" then there is no problem with your IP / port setup. You will only get that message when the client has contacted the server and the server has replied back that the uname/pword is incorrect.

So.. For those who are getting the error, it's because their username or password is incorrect.

Keep in mind that a "superadmin" user can NOT login via the client. The superadmin is used for multi-server administration only.

A "server admin" however, CAN login via the client. Also, a normal "registered" user can login via the client with a username/password.

The other thing to note is that you must enter the correct "registered" username and password into the addressbook. Many people make the mistake of using a Nickname, then creating a different "registered" username, then attempting to use their Nickname as their login username.

The easiest way to set this up is to first delete their accounts via the web-admin. Then have them join the server as unregistered users. Then have an admin grant them the right to register. Have them register and take note of their unames/pwords. Finally, have them disconnect and fill in the addressbook fields correctly and rejoin.

Really, it is an extremely simple operation, but for some reason, people seem to get very confused about how to do this.

Hope this helps,
pb

The problem here is,that although HMCC and 2 others cant get on as an unregistered user, everyone else can. We cant even get them to the registered stage.

Hi zhghmcc,

If you are using ZoneAlarm as a firewall, some people have reported that it continues to block even when it is "turned off".
