Hello guys
I've been experiencing a lot of echoes when using TS. But, I solved my problems. And because I don't think anyone likes echoes, I will post my configuration and some explanation, so that it might help people with echo problems....
This file attached shows the configuration of windows volume control (or whatever it's English name is...) this is a small program, always included in windows with which you can adjust all the different volumes of sound-producing devices...
BTW, I use windows XP, but in other versions it might be quite the same.
Ok, how do you get to the volume control? Very easy:
It might be shown in your taskbar, a small sign (most of the time the sign is a speaker) Or you'll have to find it:
- Go to c:/windows (or wherever you got windows installed)
- Got to to the system32 directory (so c:/windows/system32)
- Open (double click) on 'sndvol32' file
WOW, you opened the volume control :D
Ok, now make all the settings the same as shown in the attachment. The attachment is in Dutch, but I’ll put translations down this message. Ow, btw:
You've got two kinds of volume control:
- Volume control (standard when you open the sndvol32 file)
- Record control (opened in this way: options > properties > record, DO NOT FORGET TO check all boxes)
The ‘things’ shown in volume/record control might be different, or there might be more. Just make sure you have something like the same ones in my screenshot. (by checking the boxes when you go to options> properties > record/play off)
OK, now check my attachment. Notice:
-Wave (volume control) not to high!!!
-Microphone (volume control) high, because this is how good you
can hear the others (how loud there voices are)
-Microphone (RECORD control) as high as needed. In my case is it low because I have 'micboost' (advanced option) but in most cases it must be quite high or maybe even max!!
Ok, hope all is clear to the readers.
Translation of my (Dutch) attachment, English names might be different:
--------------
Volume control:
Volumeregeling= Master volume / volume setting
Wave = wave :)
CD-speler = CD-player (how loud sound from cd-rom station, when using it to play cd’s, is, I think, it's not real important)
Microfoon = Microphone
Aux = ? Aux?
Lijningang = Line in
Phone = Phone :)
Mono Out = Mono out
-----------------
Record control:
All are above, only:
Wave-uitgangmix = wave-exit mix (uhmz, free translation, now idea if it is correct :))
Ok, hope all is clear to the readers and that many can use it
If admins of this forum do not like this post because of some kind of reason (like: already posted by others, 'cause i didn't check that, or any other reason) they're free to do so...
And sorry for my bad English...
OW, another important fact: ALL users of my (clan’s) TS server had about this configuration. Only then it will work I think….
Greetz =)DD(= Gotcha
