ok, i have searched EVERYWHERE for info on telnet. i have connected to my ts server. all the info i have found says that a box appears asking for username and password. this does not happen for me.
when i type "login xxxxxx" (xxxxxxx being my name!) it says no server selected.
its really commands and where to go from here which i need to know.
i would really like to be able to use telnet, i have read about the cool stuff u can do with it and i just need a little help and a nudge in the right direction. so if you can help me please take a little time and reply. thanks :)
btw, im using cmd.exe (not a telnet app) win xp home and the latest version of ts.

Since most commands affect individual TS servers you need to select one first.
The command login for example allows authentication for a normal registered user. And normal registered users are maintained on a per-server basis. That means if you register the login "Brain" on the TS server running on port 8767 then the login "Brain" on the TS server running on port "7767" on the same machine is still available.
The only commands I have in active mamory that don't require you to select a specific server because they're server-wide are "slogin" and "gi".
Also, all interesting commands, like "mptc" for example, require a superadmin login.

I hope that was a good nudge into the right direction.

try "help login" - there's detail help for each command.
login expects user name and password... and you only supplied the user name.
