I have the newest version of TS Client & TS Server, as I downloaded it 3 days ago or so. I made my server "D-Block *Gaming*"(mostly for SoF2) and used all the help's. When everything seemed right, I used TS Client to login but get this message: (13:48:18)No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My firewall is inabled, would that mean I should'nt use port forwarding and if I should, then HOW?need specific solution, cause I've searched after port forwarding but Im not too good at getting any sence out of it. Im a noob you know.
I've been searching the forums a very long time, and follwed that guy Sticky's 'server setup' to the end, but could'nt find the right answer for this. Many have posted it, but get a critical answer like: "they should search the forum, or read the rules".
Can't say I did'nt do that...(Twice). If any info is missing let me know.
Cheers

Hi,

I think we need some more info on your set-up, for instance are both server and clinet running on one machine?

If not, are they behind router/firewall

Give us some more clues and we will try to sort you out

Bear in mind though that if you want to connect to a server from within a LAN or on the same machine, you'll have to use the internal IP address of that server machine

We need a little bit more information:

Are you using Linux or Windows for the TS Client and TS Server?
Are the TS Client and Server installed on the same computer, or on two different computers?
Are the TS Client and Server both in the same LAN, or is one (for example) at your home and the other somewhere else on the internet?

A simple check to see if your TS server is running:
- Check the server's log (server.log) in the TS Server directory. If it exists, then you atleast have started the TS Server once.
- Check the processes running on the TS Server's system. There should be a process running for the TS Server. On Linux it is called 'server_linux', don't know what is is called on Windows. There may be more TS processes running at once, TS does that.

A simple check to test the TS Client:
- Connect to one of the TS Public Servers:
voice.teamspeak.org:10050
voice.teamspeak.org:10060
And see if this works.
- Find out what the IP is of your TS Server machine. Then do a Quick Connect (Menu->Connect), and in Server Address fill in that IP number, and give yourself a Nickname, then enter Connect.

Well, I use both on the same computer and under windows as I dont have a clue what linux is about.
To be honest im not sure about that firewall/router-thing.
but have read that xp comes with a firewall and I have inabled it.
the server.log looks like this:
-------------- log started at 21-04-04 19:42 -------------
---------------------------------------------------------------
21-04-04 19:42:56,ALL,Info,server, Server init initialized
21-04-04 19:42:56,ALL,Info,server, Server version: 2.0.20.1 Win32
21-04-04 19:42:56,ALL,Info,server, Starting VirtualServer id:1 with port:8767
21-04-04 19:42:56,ALL,Info,server, Server init finished

When I right-click TS server there is, no wait, Was 2 IP's
1: 80.167.161.90:8767 marked as Server Address, its gone now!
2: 192.168.123.125 dont now what this is good for!!
Witch one is the internal IP address???
Where can I check for SURE there is no router/firewall???
Could'nt find server progress! (ha, believe that?)

ok, here we go , please bear with us

1 1: 80.167.161.90:8767 marked as Server Address, its gone now!
2: 192.168.123.125 dont now what this is good for!!

1 is your external IP, 2 is your internal IP

So if you want to connect to a TS server on the same machine use IP 2

Disable your firewall by: going to network connections, right-click the active LAN-connections, properties, advanced and there disable XP firewall :D

Then, fire up your webbrowser and go to http://192.168.123.125:14534 , this should give you your webadmin interface. Passwords for Admin and Superadmin to be found in the server.ini file i your TS directory

Now the hairy thing, in order to allow people to connect from the outside they need your external IP, if they can't connect it usually means there is some blocking/firewall capabilities on your modem and/or router

Let us know how you go

How can I use the Internal IP adress? when I right-click the TS-icon and hit internal IP(as the only IP there), the little menu disapears and nothing happens.
And firewall is of....

PS:My friend gave up some time ago, but I'm a very patient man...

Cheers m8.
