is there a set limit to the amount of people that can join my server?

This is the scenario:
When there are 7-8 people on my server it runs fine. 9 people and it may or may not kick. 10 people join and everyone except for me gets kicked off of the server.

I have installed a bandwidth program and the most upload that I am seeing is a whole 18kbs. This is far from my allowable 256k upload max speed. What gives?

Computer specs:
AMD 700Mhz
256MB RAM
Windows 2k Advanced Server

The only programs that are on this computer are:
Teamspeak RC2 Server
Bandwidth Monitor Pro.

That's all that is running along with the standard processes. The Task Manager shows an average of 8% CPU usage. So I'm really confused. I have updated the server, made all of the client users upgrade to the latest RC2 Client. I'm lost. My main problem is that on any given night I have at least 20-30 people that use my server at the same time in my clan. I'd like to know what I can tweak to get this thing to work correctly.

Do i have to purchase a license?

No, go into the webadmin, then go into the settings of your server, you can find the amount of players in there. Change them to a higher number.

The standard number of users is set to 30 :)

You mean when it starts, if so, no, it starts at 8 ;)

Ok, so it's not the setting for the max amount of users as it was set to 25. I bumped it up to 30, but that still doesn't seem right for why when 8-10 ppl get on it goes nuts and kicks everyone except for me off. What is the problem here? Surely you guys gotta have this problem somewhere....

the default value is 16 if I recall correctly, bumped up from 8 that its set to in older server versions...
If everybody gets kicked off your server then this is a connection problem, the TeamSpeak server as you can download it from our webpage has no problems handling thousands of users, if the bandwidth is there.
The 256 KBit/sec is only 32 KByte/sec, and that can be exceded by 20 people easily (if many are in one room and start to talk at the same time). Though, this should not lead to players being droped, it would lead to laggy voice etc.
Maybe your provider has connection problems so that there are "pauses" in the packet transmition. TeamSpeak is very sensitive to this, since its real-time, no packets for a few seconds means the client is dropped since the server thinks its down.

could it be the router that i'm using? possible solution? What would be the best router to get - bang for buck wise?

Yes, currently the default is 16 user.
could be a "bad" router firmware. Then I would try to update it. Could be as well an ISP problem. then it may get difficult to solve.

Updated the Firmware, reinstalled a fresh copy of the RC2 server. I still have the same problem. Fawk! I'm so pissed off right now! I just want to have my squad be able to talk on here!

what error do the dropped people get (log files,..) ?

just a wild guess: set the clients to debug mode. This seems to solve timeout problems (if it's one ?).

im not sure of what the error message is - i believe that they get the timeout message from what i can remember.

I just purchased a new SMC wireless router and I'm going to see how that works out. Hopefully things will smooth themselves out as the router that i was using was a hand me down.

My guess is you have a NetGear or Linksys router. :D

If it is Netgear, replace it. If it is Linksys, upgrade firmware.
