View Full Version : maybe sth like global registration ?
I am bored of this. How to ban people with dynamic IPs ? They just come back after 5-15 seconds and start over and over doing the same s**t they we're doing before! I'm tired. How much bans You can add so You can die peacefully?
I have an idea to make a registration form via teamspeak.org website for the TS3. Then, if a guy is acting bad on the server, You can ban his TS3-account from this server, not worrying about his dynamic IP! Of course, he can register a new account, but while doing it for the #100 time, he will start to get bored too and maybe he'll stop :). I think it should be added much more time before I told You about it ;).
Kill people who are annoying!
Make an option like this in TS3!
It's as simple as that:
Revoke the privileges of creating unregistered channels and joining registered channels from anonymous users. Make the default channel moderated. Revoke the privilege to register oneself from anonymous users as well.
Now you have to allow people registration or create their accounts manually, but you also have a way of keeping the unwanted people out.
In combination with a little PHP and a forum software's DB you can create accounts automatically for people who are registered there as well.
Limitless potential :)
yeah, but it's kinda worky :/
and by the way I have problems connecting TS to MySQL
so that idea is bad for me :/
You don't have to use MySQL for TS in order to do automatic account creation. It's quite simple actually, I've modified my clan's forum registration to also create a TS account. All you need is a little PHP script that can connect to the TCP Query Port and send commands. There are already TCP Query commands to create accounts so that's no big deal.
Besides, central registration has the weakness of single point of failure. If you want to prevent all TS users from using Teamspeak simply knock that authentication server offline. That's why I think central registration is a bad idea.
Apart from that I agree that a global user ID that doesn't change would be a good idea, however the generation and verification will probably cause more problems than solve in my opinion.

Make everything dependable from one single database ? WOW !
1) what a work to implement this
2) what if this db is down
.....
I don't think this is a very good idea.
Sorry, I'm not going to provide anything for anybody anymore. Doing some light support here is all I'm going to do, and given the number of repeated newbie questions from users who can't be bothered to read the manuals I'm not going to do this for long either.
guess I have no more to do :/
new idea with my admin - server password :/
ehhhh
thanks anyway
