Okay, heres the deal...I try to talk and i don't make noise, instead you can hear some sort of diabolical sounding stuff in the background. It progressively gets louder....I know it sounds stupid but I dont know what to do. Im running AC'97 for VIA chipset audio off of my mainboard. It was working fine until i tried to install the newest drivers to make static go away. I then reinstalled old drivers and it persisted. So I reinstalled TS and it still happening. Someone help me please!!!

onbaord chips are WELL known for bad drivers with lots of static. Some people could solve it with different drivers, other couldn't => get a cheap PCI sound card seems to solve it

Yep..ordering a new sound card, not a cheap one, but a new one :) . It will hopefully work. Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

I'm sorry for this answer. But since I post here I've never read about a "real" solution to static with onboard chips. Beside many many users have reported that they couldn't solve it with different drivers, I've read as well several tests (c't,....) where onboard chips mostly didn't got good results (especially in sound recording).

So I've come to the conclusion, that there's a real problem with onboard chips => a true sound card seems to solve the problems and to be the only true solution (After testing different drivers)
