Server/Client Question

Can i set up the server and Client on the same computer? some people i have talked to say it has to be done on two seperate computers i was just wondering if i need one or two computers to do this?

yes you can set both client and server up on the same computer, just remember that when you connect to the server you do so using the LAN ip address ie 192.168.x.x and not the WAN address that people from the internet would connect using.

ok i get the 2 IP addys one is 10.10.10.107 the other 56.102.177.167 I am also useing a Linksys router what IP do i use and do i need to set up any thing with the router?

taken from this (http://www.netdummy.net/privateip.html) webpage your first IP (10.10....) is the LAN IP which you should use within your LAN.

The other IP is def. a WAN IP which should be only used by WAN players (a port forwarding in your router is required so that WAN players can join !)

port forwarding: please read your router manual or do a search in this forum or in a true router forum.
