i have the server set up and have successfully hosted friends through teamspeak.

What a great piece of software, congratulations.

But, when I create sub-channels they appear and work successfully until I LEAVE THAT CHANNEL ...THEN THAT CHANNEL DISSAPEARS.

How do I creat a pemanent sub-channel, that stays in place when I'm not connected.

Thanks
schrecken

If you RTFM or STFF you would've found out that you need to set the registered flag for the channel and that you have to be logged in with Server Admin privileges.
Please do that next time.

I would have answered like this:

You need to be logged in with server admin privileges.

Click on \channels\create channel

You need to have the "registered" box ticked for the channel to stay permanent.

I would have answered like that as well, IF this was a new question and if it had not been asked dozens of times before...

I wonder why it has been asked hundreds of times before.

Maybe because the answers received are mostly inappropiate so that when a search is made the results returned are 90% rubbish forcing a newbie to once again ask the same question.

Once again thank you for your reply.

Good point. I'll probably do that.

There is nothing to wonder !
=> LAZINESS of the forum users. Post here and you'll see it day by day.

Or could you explain to me why some questions get asked when there are many threads in the forum or even sometimes many threads on the same day ? Just one simple search could have spared the new thread.

Have fun with TS !

Ok

when I put in the search string: create permanent channel I get the answer below, which was very useful before I posted here.

now you really disappoint me schrecken :(
why make it hard when it could be soooo easy ?

enter "permanent channel", the second hit shows you the solution. Oh and by the way, it gives you as well a direct link to the appropriate section in the manual.
