View Full Version : Serever down/not running TS error
Hi
My squad is playing WW2OL and Warbirds. We got access to a Finnish TS server that a squad that we often coop with have. A month ago or so suddenly me and some of the squaddies can't login anymore to the server. We just get server down or not running TS error. This happends for some of us, for others it works ok. There is no "banning" thing involved (we are quite nice guys ;) ). The server is up and running and the other guys can login without any problems and I can log in to other servers.
Have serched posts for this but no found.
As far as I know there is no soft/hard-ware that are the same for us that can't connect.
A thing I noticed when trying to fix this is that when I tried to do a fresh install of TS I removed it from controlpanel and then deleted all I found that could have anything to do with TS manually I still get the old settings when reinstalling. So there must be something somwere that I have not found.
I am very thankful for ideas to cure this, TS makes the games a LOT more fun.

Are you accessing the server by name or by IP address?
If by name, try the IP address. If by IP address, make certain you have a correct IP.
Tried both ways, and so have the others. Same result :(

have you done some scanning when you get disconnected (can you still ping IP, see TS server port open,...) ?
Yes I have, and all seems ok. Can connect to other servers. The strange thing is that it is just some of the squaddies that have this prob while others have no prob's at all.

I've been experiencing this problem as well. Mine is just a recent occurance. I can connect to any server that's listed as well as my squads server and my private server. There is one server that I can't connect to. It was online, people were in it and it was not password protected. The admin tried to create me an account but was still unable to connect with the information he provided. Ive tried connecting every way imaginable and from different PC's on my network.

Ok I think I may have found the problem. The problem I've been having is because I have a windows client TS and was trying to connect to a linux server. Everyone that's registered to that linux server can connect but I couldn't. There is a problem there somewhere. The host of the linux server has to run a debug on the server in order to get it to work.

Find out if this is the same issue you are having with your friends server and let me know
Intresting .... I think the Finnish server is on Linux. I am at win XP. I think that all of squaddies uses window client. I am also on a quite ok DSL connex so it should not cause a timeout, but one thing got in to my mind. Win XP pro should have better networking than XP home (am I right ?? ) . Then me as a XP home user have some "lag" and get a timeout. Just a wild idea, and I am not a computer pro ;) . But I will check some with my squaddies. Will also post your post at our board and see, I am not in direct contact with the guys who run the server.

when reinstalling t-s you need to rermove all reg info to get new install to work or change default location of fresh install ! this worked for me
Thx all trying to help. I tried all but no go, BUT I installed the new client that TS people made because of that virus-thingy in keypress file. Now I can connect to all servers again :) . Maybe that can give the TS-crew an idea of what caused this.

I don't think this will help at all because you didn't say which client version you used before. But still, it's good it's working for you now :)
About version. I used the latest version downloaded from TS-pages. Did a reinstall with a fresh client downloaded on of the first days in June.
