I'm a TS NEWB please help lol

Ok I installed TS yesterday and it's all good except that my IP keeps changing. On the IP thing it has 2 IPs one that changes and one that doesn't. Should I just use the IP that never changes? For some reason I keep thinking that that is my Computer's IP and wouldn't that leave me open to hackers?

you have a LAN IP (which is usually fix or is assigned by dhcp). This IP you should use withihn your own LAN to connect to servers.

The second IP with the world icon is your WAN IP which is required for WAN players to join your server. If you have a NAT access, you'll require a port forwarding to forward the TS server port to your TS server's LAN IP (there are lots of threads in this forum about this). This WAN IP is assigned to you by your ISP and is USUALLY dynamic => so it changes when ever you reconnect to your ISP. You can either get a fix IP from your ISP (which is not free) or you make yourself familar with www.dyndns.org.

Ts just tries to detect your IP's, this does not means they're open !
