Microphone Problems. What a joy.
My microphone does not work. Simple enough. I went out, bought a new microphone, it does not work either. It's not just that TS can't detect it, not one bit of the computer can detect it. So basically, can someone lead me thru what I need to do to get my microphone working?
Thanks.

First of all, let me congratulate you to the innovative and descriptive thread title.
Sarcasm aside, it's quite simple. You plug the microphone into the microphone port on your soundcard (it's the pink one). Then you open Windoze volume control. First of all mute the microphone playback if you don't want to hear yourself in your own speakers. Then select options/properties/recording. Highlight all items in the box below (don't forget there are scrollbars ;)). Then click OK.
You will now see the sound card's recording options. Select microphone. There you go.
Use a software like the windows audio recorder, goldwave or whatever to record yourself. If your voice is too soft return to the recording controls, click the "extended" button below the microphone slider and check "microphone +20db boost" or whatever boost your sound card offers.
And that's it :)
