My yearly contract with my current web hosting provider is ending and I was thinking about switching to a new service that allows hosting of team speak.

Now I know I need a host with shell access that will let me run a application 24/7 , but my question is what are you people using that do this? I want to keep the cost under 15/ month and I need at least 1gb of space.

So far my top choice is http://entityhosting.com , but I am currently talking to them to see if they will let me run it.

hey if you can find a host that lets you do that, can you let me know? I've been wanting to host my own TS but dedicated boxes are too big and my own internet couldn't handle the load of 30 people :D

I doubt you'll find any web host that will allow this, as they have multiple clients on a machine and give you shell access would not be a good thing, no matter how well intentioned you are.

Why not find a cheap web host, and rent a server from the many providers listed here? I'm sure you could piece together something for around 15 dollars.

Hmm thought I would get more feedback then this from people doing this...

Entity (the link I posted above) says they will only do it on their Enterprise package ($330 a year) .. which is a little to much for my budget (My web site only generates like 20gb of traffic per month...)

onsmart.net (http://www.onsmart.net) has told me they can do it for 190/ year (would be $60 cheaper if I only had 1 site but I host 3 seperate domains) if it dosen't require access to admin area on the server. So does it??

Think I will go with them ... unless I find something better.

good luck...Entity Hosting told me they'd do it if I gave them my computer

Try this place: www.managed.com

you could set up both webspace and a TS server if you wanted, provided you know how to install PHP and Apache for the web handling.

Yea I don't need a dedicated server lol.

Think I will try onsmart.net ... as they told me they would allow it.

Me, myself and I. Dedicated servers are the way to go period. If your clan is renting the boxes I bet for most games you could probably buy a dedicated box for cheaper or near same cost as your current servers. (unless your small as heck). For 249 I have 3 COD servers, 1 BFV server and 1 BF1942 and still room for more. Oh yea, TS is included too.

This is a clan for a mmorpg (Lineage2 .. like everquest) not a clan that needs a hosted gaming server. We will peak in a year at about 30-40 members (Only have about 20 now). So at max we will be having like 25 people using TS so trust me when I say I dont need a dedicated server ;)

GoodOmens...

Give us a look. I think you'll find the pricing is good. http://www.teamspeakhost.com/pricing.php Also note you get FULL Server Admin and can do what you like with YOUR TeamSpeak.

If you wish to see how our servers work, we have a public test server to try. You can go to this link...

http://www.teamspeakhost.com and click on the Demo Server icon.
