no one is saying teamspeak is a virus, why not?I believe team speak is.WHY?
well for 1 anti viruses pick up somethin shady about the lil program. 2 teamspeak connects to 213.202.254.116 port 80 for no reason at all and if u try urself to connect ur not allowed to view whats there. whats so important there? wouldnt we like to know

I'm not sure, but I'm sure it is logging itself in to the TS main server. This is probably done to make sure someone is not renting out multiple servers and not paying for the licensing.

Plus you should read the sticky above.

By any luck I will have time to reply before this thread gets closed ;)

There are a thousand reasons for why it is not a virus and here are just a few:

a) you are just to damn lazy to read the board

b) that question has been answered a thousand times. refer to a)

c) it connects to that ip to fetch the list of servers (does make sense huh?)

d) If you would just remotely know about how AVS (anti virus software) works and what kind of application teamspeak is, you might suddenly realise that you might have to write something like a "keylogger" (an application that intercepts every key pressed before it gets processed by other running applications) to allow a "press to talk" key to work for teamspeak (that is if directx isn't used for the keypress-detection).

Now giving you a few minutes to think about it you might actually consider that some generic AVS might figure out that teamspeak contains a keylogging feature. That is really astonishing isn't it?.
Heck.. there is even the remote chance that teamspeak contains a similar code as you might find in a 2 year old key-logging trojan (thats what has happend).

Since you must have immense computer knowledge (I can only assume that you have such knowledge by reading your signature) it should't be much of a problem for you too hook up a packet sniffer (I would suggest WinPcap in conjunction with the Ethereal log analyser) and figure out yourself what kind of date is sent to and from that IP.

If you still dont believe me I can only advise you to shoot yourself as thats about the best thing that you could do for the whole of mankind.
Please invest some of your precious time for thinking and reading up before you post next time. thanks.
