I'm having a problem with my microphone sound quality. The strange thing about it is that I don't sound bad to everyone that hears me, only some people. A friend of mine recorded how it sounds to him and I can describe it as a scratchy popping noise or like I'm talking through an AM radio. Others say I am crystal clear. I tried changing the direct sound to WAV and back but no luck. I even spoke through my speakers and didn't hear anything wrong myself. I've tried installing new audio drivers and the problem continues. I'm using on board sound through my Nforce2 A7n8x Deluxe mobo and never really had any issues.

Not sure if anyone with my specs have had similar issues, but please let me know. I can use some help, getting tired of people on my TS server telling me I sound like crap.

Thanks

I found that if you go to CHANNEL>> EDIT CHANNEL>> then change codec to a higher level this resolves a lot of noise issues.
NOTE* do not go to settings>> Sound. Go to CHANNELL First. Then Edit Channel.
Let me know if this helps :)

there is nothing in this post that is stated by poster that would even remotely sugest he is a server host / admin and could change a server setting from a client , this post is even in the client section of the fourm .

most sound issues are driver realated , or direct x related , or a sound propertys issue , i have used codec at 7.2 and could hear just fine with out any bad scrachy sound.
the 3.4 and 5.2 are not that great but is still a server side issue not the client chat with the server admin to get those changed
