View Full Version : Router Woes!
I have read many many places here that if you are using a router you must forward ports etc..
I even have all the #'s written down ... I just can't find anywhere that tells you how to go about doing so.
TS works flawlessly when I disconnect my router but I would really love to be able to leave both my comps hooked up.
I have a Gigafast 400-R router ... if you know how/what I need to do please let me know.
Thanks! :newbie:
The reason why you can't find anything here is that your problem/question is related to the router you are using and not to teamspeak.
Hence your best bet would be the router manual or a board dealing with routers or even your router in specific (try google)
If you know how to access your routers admin-interface (its most probably accessed by using a webbrowser or telnet) you might want to look for something labeled "portforwarding", "SUA", "Virtual Server" or "NAT".
By any luck you will then find out how to forward ports to your server without even looking at a manual.
But be warned. If you mess with your routersettings you might break something (worst case is usually that you become vulunerable to hackers or that your internet-connection doesn't work anymore). So before you change anything i'd suggest that you at least remotely understand what you are doing.
Thanks .. I appreciate your input. I have read / reread the manual and even tried thier "24hour customer service" <-- a joke.
I have tried the typical settings in virual server, 2-way applications, and even in DMZ but none of the "normal" procedures have correctly fixed the forwarding protocol.
Sorry for posting a "router Question" here but I am at the point of grabbing at straws from anyone who may have encountered a similar problem.
Thanks again. ( I think )

TS works when you disconnect your router (=> your i-net connection). So you're using TS only in the LAN ? Then you do not need to bother about port forwarding. Within the LAN, you should ONLY use the LAN IP (no connection via webserverlist) !
The port forwarding is only required if you want to connect people from the WAN to your TS server.
please try to solve your router forwarding problem in a real router forum e.g. www.broadbandreports.com. You can't expect this TS forum to have a solution read for every router out there. That's simpyl impossible !
Still, if you're lucky, someone with the same router as you will probably post a hint for you.
