Gentoo+KDE+TS= Self Playback?

I was fooling around with my kmixer settings and alsamixer settings and I cant seem to be able to record my voice without hearing playback of it again 1 sec later. If I turn off recording then TS wont record. Its very strange.

Do I need to use Push to talk mode?

I am running
Gentoo-2.6.7
Alsa
Creative Soundblaster Live 5.1!

Any help will be greatly appreaciated =D
