Okay, I'm just going to post a new topic and hope to god someone has a good answer. Here's the deal, I have a linux box running fedora core 2 with an onboard VIA technologies AC97 sound controller. ALSA is what I'm using for sound drivers. I am running Gnome and no sound daemon. I have teamspeak 2RC2 installed and running fine and I play Tribes 2 Linux by Loki Software. I can run one at a time but not both at the same time.

1) I have tried the echo ... > /proc/... trick and it doesn't work.
2) I have /dev/dsp and /dev/audio but there doesn't seem to be a difference to the devices.
3) I still don't know much of anything about the sound system under linux
4) I had Windows XP installed and TS and Tribes 2 worked flawlessly together.

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to have to go out and buy a soundcard just to get the echo trick to work. There's no garauntee anyway. What should I try next? I'm not a total newbie to linux but I am to the sound system. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I TOO THINK TS SHOULD SUPPORT NATIVE ALSA
