Teams

This feature would follow like the Channel Commander feature. Except, it would be called a "Team" feature. Instead of granting yourself channel commander, you can join a certain "team" which will make your "light status" that color. We might have a Yellow, Red, Blue, Purple, Pink, etc etc. team, and:

Depending on your "Team premissions" you can automatically make yourself be a part of that team.

And for those without permission, the "team" commander/operator/admin could invite another user to that certain team.

If you try to join a team without permission, it will automatically tell the person/people that have rights over that team, that you are trying to join their team, and they can either Accept or Denie request.


This is also a bit like having channels, where you can join a certain channel to talk to certain people, and be invited to that channel etc. etc. But instead the Team feature would be handy for talking to your Team across channels.

Also add options for shortcut hotkeys to be assigned to join a certain team.

I bet this has been asked, and may already be implemented in TS 3, but just in case, skin support would be nice ;)

Just realised this looks ALOT like the one titled Speech Groups. The only reason Im leaving it open it because I saw I left a couple more features to use than the group idea. If it should be closed, a Mod can do it or ask me to do it (might as well do it yourself instead of wasting your time PMing me or posting here)

Version 3 will include group support, the creators already told us.

Teams by colour is a good idea, it makes determining the membership quick and easy.

This might be a good compromise to the speech groups I suggested.

I was thinking any user could be a member of multiple groups, but I couldn't figure out an efficient way of determining what group each member is a part of (other than listing them all). Colour would be quick and easy.

I suppose you could be a part of multiple teams depicted by coloured stars or bars by there username.

PS: I searched/scanned the suggestions forum, and anything related to Suggestion or TS3 in the general forum, and haven't found anything like this. Group permissions were mentioned, but that's not the same.

Hi there,

the groups suggestion is a logical extension to the channel-commander concept. But, as far as I can see there will be no need for a channel commander, since you will be able to create your custom groups (permission groups), you will just be able to create a group that doesn't have any special rights, call it channel commander, and bind yourself a key to whisper to members of that group, so we will have the functionality requested in TS3 if all goes well.
