View Full Version : Very weird problem running as service on Win2003

I first tried to run TeamSpeak Server as a service using firedaemon. This worked fine, until I would logon to the Windows Server, and then log off. When I logged off the Windows Server TeamSpeak Server would stop running…restart…then stop again and restart a second time and stay on.

For this reason I decided to switch to the servany option. However, this made it worse. Now when I logon to my server and log off again, the TeamSpeak Server stops for good. If I reboot the Windows Server the service starts up fine and I can again reconnect to TeamSpeak, until I logon to my Windows Server again and log off…Pop goes TeamSpeak Server.

When I log back onto the server, and look at the services, it shows the TeamSpeak Server service as ‘started’. But since I can’t connect to the TeamSpeak Server with the client, I assume it isn’t really. Restarting the service starts TeamSpeak Server backup again, until I log off the Windows Server

Also, quick note, I am running another TeamSpeak Server on a Windows 2000 server using servany and it works as it should.

Is there some permissions or something I need to set on 2003?

Has anyone else seen this issue? Any ideas about what might cause it?

Thanks

I am running a windows 2003 server and haven't had that issue... are you connecting to it with Remote Desktop? What applications are you running on the server other than teamspeak?

Do you have multiple network interface cards (nic) in your server? If so, it will jump between the two. Make sure you run TS on a server with only ONE nic in it.

in the server.ini you can "bound to ip"= ip of one nic card to force ts to use only 1 we run 9 game servers and ts all on one 2003 server and have zero troubles

What did you use to get it to run as a service on W2k3?? I don't want to use fd as it is a 30 day trial.. and I'm not big on using srvany unless there is no other alternative.

Thanks,

I also tried the link to the server_windows_service.exe on other posts and it still does not work.

THanks,

Forgive my stupidity... I got it working... Putting the exe in the teamspeak folder might help.... just a little... :p
