Okay my husband and I have 2 computers using the teamspeak 2 client and they are connected to the same router which is connected to DSL.

We are connecting to a teamspeak server which is OUTSIDE the router
(The machine is in Texas, we are in Florida.).

When both clients are connected to the server, Teamspeak mostly sees us as the same connection and echoes .

For example: They connect as husband and wife. Husband talks green light next to husband lights up in client, then green light next to wife will light up and you hear what husband said from wife's channel.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Cheryl

Does the echo thread on the FAQ board help?

No that covers issues with soundcards. This is not the soundcard echoing.

From what my husband can tell the server is seeing input from one of us as coming from the other. So that when one of us talks, the server relays it back as if the other user said it. There is a delay due to client/server connection (its not an as you talk echo). And anyone else connecting to the server (other people elsewhere, like Hawaii) says they hear everything we say twice when we're both connected and only once when only one of us is connected.

In other words its like the server thinks both connections are coming from the same client, which they're not. But since they're behind a router they do have the same external IP address (as far as the outside world is concerned), that of the router.

(Uh-oh, I don't like the direction in which this is heading.)
Did you at least try the suggestions there? Please, humour me.

Well none of those were the problem really in the end (I'm cherylp3's husband). After further investigation I determined that the problem happened when I talked but not when she talked. Turned out that she had her mic selected and not muted under playback options. So it was playing and recording itself (near as I can tell).

I'd add that as a possible solution under the echo thread in the FAQ.
