I recently purchased the domain ProphetsOfFate.com which is going be hosted by a company in the UK. I live in the US and I host a teamspeak server for the gaming community I run called Prophets of Fate.

My question is, can I make a subdomain teamspeak.prophetsoffate.com and make it point to my IP and port in which the teamspeak is hosted on or would the domain and TS have to be hosted on the same IP?

That depends if your domain hoster allows it. Technically it is possible to assign different IP addresses to subdomains, that's what the distributed DNS system is all about.
