Ok --- Ive read the huge long post bout url to ts. Im still lost as a bat.

Anyways, let me explain what I want to do. I own the domain www.thenewcold.com (not hosted at my home, as I know this comment is relevent)

I have unlimited sub domains and can redirect them as I wish.

So I want someone to be able to type "ts.thenewcold.com" into the server option of the quick connect and be redirected to my TS server.

What do I need to put in the redirect to accomplish this?

This is not a hot link that pops up teamspeak and connects. I want ts.thenewcold.com to be what they type as the server address.

P.S. In case anyone was wondering I have c-panel to accomplish sub-domain redirection.

then make sure the domain "ts.thenewcold.com" points to the IP the TS server is running on.

I did it for ours, you can use dyndns.com or if you own a domain with DNS zones(I never got it to work right using subdomains) then you can make a new DNS zone that points to that IP.

Note: If the port is different you still need to enter the port inside TS.

E.G:

ts.sitehere.com:8348

so i cant make

ts.thenewcold.com point to
65.78.777.56:8967

its got to be

ts.thenewcold.com:8967

ps fake ip

I just used http://www.no-ip.org/ They allow you to link your domain with your ip by useing their own software that automatically updates your ip if you have a dynamic IP... i recommend using it. I have tried dyndns.org but i fin no-ip.org much more user friendly :)

Usually you cannot redirect a ip address and a port at the same time unless you have a special dns zone thing, i know dyndns provides, but I run my own business and i have ts hosted on a subdomain also, like i said you usually cant redirect the port but you can redirect the ip so in other words
redirect (in your case)

ts.thenewcold.com
to
66.36.242.235

and then connect to the server by ts.thenewcold.com:9001

hope that helps

yeah you're right ... no-ip is more user friendly but dyndns is more reliable...
