do this
start => run => Type in 'cmd' with out the qoutes
from there type in 'ipconfig' again with out the quotes
and that should give you your ip address

once that is done assuming you have a linksys router do the following
- Go to http:192.168.1.1
- Go to Advanced
- Click DMZ host
- Set your DMZ host that ip you saw when you did ipconfig
(the ip should look something like 192.168.1.101)
Once this is done you should have no trobell joining using the external ip address
Hope All works
Questions;
a) Type of Connection
b) Do you use a router
c)is it (The router) Configureable
If you have a dial-up or direct broadband you could try a dynanic dns service (use google search) and a mini auto dyn linking program like Dynsite for windows
If you use a nonconfigureable Router see the above
if you have a configurable router you may need to go into the utility for the router (either Telnet or by it's internal web see your Router's documentation)
Find and configure Port forwarding to the IP of your server (in this case according to your post 192.168.1.1) the Ports you'll need to forward are listed in the fourms
I hope this helps

not a good idea to use DMZ it leaves your whole computer open to hackers and you only need to open port 8767 in port fowarding in the router for ts !
