I am having the same problem. Before you post it, I did use the Search Option and I found no answer. So here is a detailed description of what I have going on:
I have WIN98SE, Athlon 1Gig, lots of RAM, SB Audigy Gamer Card, Voodoo 5 video. I use the Server when I play MechWarrior 4.
TSServer worked very well for me untill just recently. I had the server up, clients connected, we were playing MW4. The game locked up, I had to hard boot my comp to shut down and restart. After I came back up, TSServer wouldn't start.
I unistalled & re-installed. My firewall is down, port 9110 is set to forward to my computer. My other voice comm programs still work (don't know if that is any help, but what the heck...). Client still works, just can't get the server to start.
Any ideas?
Edit: Forgot to mention that my Server log looks just like the one above.
Thank you for that informative Post btw I did!
@[AS] Fixed it I changed the Port to 5119X (x being any number between 1 and 9 GameVoice server was using 0 so I put TS server close at 2) LOL now the clients on any of my workStation give me random Access Violation errors

I tried to change the port to 51191, but it didn't work for me. Still get same error message in the server log. :confused:

Don't forget that TS Server uses 2 ports.. 1 for TCP/IP and 1 for UDP (tcp/ip+1)
What firewall do you? Some firewalls are "active" even though they are disabled (sounds odd, but its true)
GeoffM: clients crash only on your ws, or on everybody's ws who tryed to connect?

My firewall is in a Linksys Router (sorry, I left that out of my previous post). What sort of TCP/IP stuff do I need to check, and where do I check it? I'm afraid I don't know much about networking and protocols :o . As I mentioned before, it was working fine for a couple months, then it just quit after the game locked up.

OK, I went into the TSServer.ini and set the [Networking] TCPPort=9110. I went to my router and set it to Forward 9110(TCP) and 9111 (UDP) to my Comp. Is that what I am supposed to do?
Still won't start up TSSERVER.

Try closing as many programs that are running besides TS Server... (including any special "soundcard" programs)
Also try reinstalling DirectX 8.1 if you haven't done so yet..

Re-installed DirectX 8.1 and no other programs are running in hte background. It still won't start and I get the same error in the Server Log.
After checking the Server Log I see that the only thing different betwwen this time and the last time I successfully ran TSServer is the install of the latest MechWarrior4/BlackKnight update. We did successfully use TS for about 2 hours before the game (MW4/BK) crashed on my computer. After that I haven't been able to start TSServer.

OK, it's fixed. What fixed it? I really couldn't tell you. When I first had the problem one of the things I did was put my IP address in the TSServer.ini file (I read something about that in one of the FAQs. Just goes to show a little knowledge can be dangerous ;) ). It didn't fix it, and I never went back in to change it back.
After this last suggestion of re-installing DirectX 8.1 didn't work, I installed TSS on another comp in my network and checked the ini file. That's when I saw the "IP= " and changed my troublesome one back to "IP= ". Voila! Fixed!
Truthfully, I think the DirectX re-install was the real fixer. I only think that because the Server quit when the MechWarrior game crashed. To my meager amount of knowledge that seems to be the one common thread between the two.
Anyway, I have babbled on enough. Thanks for all the help. It is much appreciated. I am looking forward to the release of TS 2.0.
was running Fine now new error:in: TPingThread.PostData (UserUrl) exception EIdSocketError: Socket Error # 87 :
Service is runinng fine in task bar but I cant get to it from the outside Might be a Port error but not sure...
To answer previous Q's Yes Access Violation happen's on all WS's only when changeing rooms Program does stay running and closing the error message cuase's no disruption to system or program Just odd!
I use a Dynamic DNS service and a Small progam to Update the IP since I use ISDN for Connection this works pretty well and gives me a consistant URL which I give out to my clan for server access
PLZ set following Veriable in tsserver.ini in section
[WebStatus]
Active=0
TeamSpeakSite_Active=1
TeamSpeakSite_DisplayInWebList=0 WebPostURL=http://
WebPostURL=http://www.ept-clan.de/tspost/webpost.php
WebPostLinkUrl=http://www.ept-clan.de
This should fix the LOG-Prob!
Thanks TR-13 I fixed the error I had the sever post site looking for my PostNuke web site but I never added a .php script so it had no place to reg I removed the url in the ini and it works forgot to repost a message here...
