View Full Version : Super Admin password
I have checked the log file for the superadmin password ... however, when I use it, I get a login failed/wrong password error. Is there anyway to reset this password so that I have access again?
I do have access as a normal server admin ... but I can't get into the superadmin section at all.

the superadmin is only for logging in to the web admin not the ts server from the client ! admin is for the client to the server ... dont mix them up
correct ... although the server admin login can also be used for the web interface. I am needing to log in to the web interface using my super admin login, and the password shown in the log file is not working.
1) are you using the special "Superadmin" login page in the webinterface to login as superadmin ?
2) open the server.dbs file with a text editor. The password is in plai ntext behind 'superamin'
if it's the same as in the log file
3) delete the server-ini, dbs and log and restart the server. New files with new passwords are beeing created (of course you'll lose all data).
1) yes
2) tried that
3) Does that wipe all my registered members as well?
1) yes
2) tried that

3= yes .

hmmm.... VERY hard to belive ! The server checks the password vs this entry. Are you REALLY sure ????
If you delete the three files, do you get a new password which works ? Of course backup the old dbs first !
I am having the very same issue. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program (not realizing I could have performed the password reset fix mentioned above).
In any event this time I opened the server.log file that has (in plain text) the admin and superadmin name and passwords.
I right click on the ts icon in systray and choose "administration" the web page launches. If I type in OR cut and paste the superadmin user id and password - I get the same error mentioned at the start of this thread. If I use the admin name and password I am able to connect.
1. How can I get this to work
2. What is the differance between the two (admin / superadmin)?
Thank You for your help.

SuperAdmin Login <---- this is a link to a new page click it and you see this
Superadmin login <----NAME OF PAGE YOUR ON NOW

Admin/Client Login <----link to this log in page stated above :)
you can't log in to the superadmin using the admin/password and vice versa can't log in to admin using superadmin/password two compleatly diferant levels of admin control

** Where is this (the web admin log in page)? The way that I am logging in to administrate is that after I have installed the server and launched the program - the server icon appears in the system tray. I right click and choose administration from the menu choices.
If this is NOT the way to connect as the superadmin, can you tell me how?
Thank you very much.

Sometimes you have to laugh at yourself. :)
It seems I really hadn't read the FAQ. I downloaded the Server guide  Imagine that ! and read up on INSTALLATION.
It seems that when I was choosing "administration" from the system tray that is for the admin account NOT the superadmin (I know you guys tried to tell me but it was getting through  forgive me please). Anyway when I followed the instructions and typed in the IP followed by the port of my server "TADA" :D I'm in.
Thanks again for the quick reply and someone who shouldn't be acting as a newb <g>.
