Check you permissions.

Write in your Console:
"ps -aux" and check if run another teamspeak server

I get the same error on Fedora 2. I made sure all files in that directory belong to the correct user. It gives me an error on line 92 of the startscript file. The only thing on that line is "esac" I too am getting the error after a kernel upgrade. Thanks for any help you can offer.

The problem seems to have been introduced by the Fedora project with one of the customizations they made to the 2.6.8 kernel branch.

I have two Linux boxes (not boxen, boxes :-P), both of which run Fedora. When I upgraded to the Fedora 2.6.8 kernel, I noticed that it broke Quake III, which fails with a segmentation fault, similar to the one we also now get with TeamSpeak:

starting the teamspeak2 server
Runtime error 230 at 0805975D
./teamspeak2-server_startscript: line 92: 28674 Segmentation fault ./server_linux -PID=tsserver2.pid

The problem goes away if you either boot up with the older 2.6.7 kernel, or download and build a vanilla 2.6.8 kernel from kernel.org. My gaming box is now running on such a kernel, and TeamSpeak seems to load and run fine with this setup.

P.S. -- Building a vanilla kernel will allow you to customize it to your hardware. You can have a noticeably faster system when it's optimized for your own box.

Hey -

I just went through some kernel upgrades on FC4, and was having trouble getting teamspeak up and running after the upgrade. This solution solved the problem, thanks very much for all your work!

Cheers,

Brett
