Using Line in

Is there any way I can use the Line In port on my sound card as a microphone? I would like to use both for two inputs but using Line In alone would be ok. Or do I have to just go and get an adapter and plug both inputs into the microphone slot?

i think line in is for a wave device or cd player , tape recorder type things , try at and see ??? but dont get your hopes up lol
