poor sound

Ok this is different for all the rest as i am running linux live ( that linux on cd) what i do is boot up for a cd...i am in a clan atm and i need to use ts but i can't talk and the sound is coming in slow and there is a constant noise in the background what is this.... i am thinking it's the drivers so if there is a updated version of linux on cd please give me the download link or updated drivers so at least when i boot i can add the driver as of now the only sound driver i think this version has is dsp what ever that is.

so please i need help so if you can please

Ps. when i put the buffer quilty down the backgrond nosie get faster but the voices still come through the same please shead some light on this thanks
