I have an odd issue with my teamspeak server. It's tempremental or something...sometimes people can get on it, and sometimes they can't. It also has an issue with xfire ( www.xfire.com/xf/ ) that supports click and chat. it recognizes the IP to be 127.0.0.1 ( home IP ).

My system specifications :

Operating System : Windows XP
Proccessor : AMD Athlon
Made By : Compaq
Base Manufactior Name : Presario 6000
Internet Connection : Comcast High-Speed Cable

My TeamSpeak specifications :

Current Channels : 15

Server UDP Port : 8767
Codecs Used in Channels : CELP 5.1 Kbit, Speex 7.2 Kbit
Server Type : Clan

ServerPacketsSend: 7770
ServerBytesSend: 621444
ServerPacketsReceived: 7815
ServerBytesReceived: 574020

Bandwitdh In [Bytes/sec] 960
Bandwitdh In [Bytes/min]: 839

I really don't know why it's like this. Any suggestions?

What error do they get (server / client log) ?
Do you have a NAT access ? If so, check the FAQ thread about some people can join, some can't.

I always only use teamspeak, never Ventrilo and Teamspeak, or whatever.

Guldi, these are the server error logs

[14:54:55] No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it

[14:55:09] Undefined internal error

And, I don't know what NAT access is... (newb at this)

nat = network address translation and is used by systems to send internet information to more then 1 pc using only 1 internet conection , same as a router .. that error is most likely a router settings like port fowarding or nat not set up for port 8767 udp

I don't know if I could actually directly change my actual router settings, but my teamspeak port setting is set to 8767 UDP. I haven't seen anything about NAT access, though.

If you have a router and you can access its internal pages , you can setup port forwarding so it is accessable.

Okay, but I searched C:\\ and the Control Panel, and found nothing to do with a router, even though I know for sure I have a router. The router is hooked up to another computer, though, not mine. Would I have to access the options from that computer?

Who is actually running this server ? You or someone else?

Doing a search for anythign to do for a router on your pc will lead you no were.

If you have a router in your house ,apt , what ever , then you probably do have the router hooked up to your pc, unless you are running this pc directly to the modem and the router sperately on the modem.

I'm running the server.

The router is hooked up to a different PC and it's connected to me by Network. And, I've already searched for anything router related on my computer, as stated in my last post.

Once again, doing a search on your pc will get you no were , YOUR router has an internal page that allows you to admin your network.

Inside this router you will find Port Forward on one of the pages , which one it is I can not tell you directly with out knowing the exact router you have.

Secondly , in order for you to connect to the TS server on your network , you have to use your PRIVATE ip address which is assigned to your pc from the router.

Anyone else out side your network has to use your external IP address from your ISP or Broadband provider.

Just a side note , Your computer and every pc in your home that is connected to the router are networked together....

I know about the IPs.

What I don't know about is where to access the internal pages of my router. Lots of people have told me to do so, but they don't tell where to find it...unless, of course, it changes with different routers.

Give me the name of the router and I can try to help with it..if not then look in the manual for your router it will show you exactly what IP address you need to type into IE or Firefox to access the internal page , it will also give you the username and pass to enter to access it.

192.168.1.1 is what most routers use then a pop up asks for the user name and password , read router manual for default password but most likey it's "admin" and blank password till changed by you

Trendmicro routers use 192.168.1.145 for the default , netgear uses 192.168.1.100 , D-link and linksys use 192.168.1.1 , Microsoft veries from series to series, so actually there are many differnt setups , but like m&m and I said read the manual on the router for specifics on your settings.

The port forwarding worked, I'm 95% sure. I got about 6 people in the channel without an issue. That would have been impossible before... thanks. :)
