The mic works fine if I join TS first. But if I launch Fraps (video software) and then join TS my mic is muted by TS and I can't unmute. I'm guessing both programs want use the soundcard sot here is a conflict? Is there a way to make this work?

I have a SB audigy LS and win 2000

I searched the forums, sorry if this is a repost.
Thanks for any help!

Unfortunatly no I dont have on board sound. Fraps should have nothign to do with my mic, I have all the recording options off. Hell I can't even use fraps in a punkbuster server because I get "os exceptions" and get rebooted. But thats for another forum

Thanks for the response.

Users complained that they could not use TS and the voice tool of CS together under win2k (some reports are posted that this worked under winxp). Yes, it looks as if your video software is blocking access to the recording device.
I guess you're out of look or someone in the Fraps forum could help you

update all your drivers - mother board , sound card , video card ,
direct x to 9.0c <-- but do that 1 last after you have done all others and then restart . you can find your drivers doing a net search using the makers name and the word drivers next to it like "ati drivers" "creative drivers" and so on get all you can find .. i had a not up to date video driver would freeze up a game if someone msn-messengered me while in ts and game same time , so yours could get fixed with new drivers too ?

yes, I went through and made sure all of my drivers are up to date. Only one I was slacking on is ATI realsed a new one yesterday. All is updated and I'm still getting all kinds of odd problems. At one point people could here whatever was playing on my sytem through teamspeak aside from my mic. I talked and they heard nothing, play a song on the machine and they heard it. That problem is solved (somehow not sure how or why but it's fixed). Still hacing the same problem I had before though. I have an e-mail to the people at fraps in hope they can help.

one issue I'm still having with my soundblaster audigy ls is when I run the diagnostic they have in the software that came with it my wave drivers are failing. Tried new drivers, older drivers, reinstall, nothing seems to work. Anyone have an idea there?

Maybe I'll bite the bullet and upgrade to XP sometime soon.

try using direct sound instead of wave it ts settings tab /options/select diredt sound button in place of wave . wave will cause sounds not spoken to be played over ts ,ie pc sounds , cd's , stuck keys

Just a quick update:

According to the people from fraps windows 2000 will only allow one program to access the sound card at a time. And regardless of me having the record no sound option selected on fraps the program still contacts the sound card. So it's live with it or get XP lol.

Thank you for the suggestions and time.
