I'm not sure if i'm not finding it or what... but is there a setting somewhere to

Specifically select which audio channel on a soundcard to hear?

For example.. let me explain a little..

ON say an Audigy 2 ZS, there are up to 4 Audio Ports (analog).... if i've got 5.1 surround sound system, which uses 3 of the 4..... and use a headset to plug into the 4th port... could i set teamspeak to use AND ONLY use the 4th port to spit out all teamspeak audio?

Same goes with a Hercules 7.1 soundcard (theater XP/Digifire/Fortissimo 3)

4 ports, 3 for 5.1, last for 6.1/7.1 OR headset (it's specifically designed to output 5.1 and set the 4th to headset)...

If this isn't a feature..... could this be moved to the suggestions forum...

Thanks.... ANYONE else out there that thinks this is a worthwhile feature.. PLEASE respond with your own thoughts.... One way of getting the ball rolling, (i know there are DOZENS of people out there with 5.1 support via onboard AC-97 but only have 2 speakers.... and would be great to set the turn on the other 2 and set it to teamspeak....)

this can be done with any sound card and a onboard as far as i know , with that said..... if you got the s-b audigy2zs like i got and a onboard sound card you can set your 2zs for all your games and windows sounds , and set your onboard for TS in the settings tab /options input/outputs as well as the mic on the onboard . i run all of the 7.1 speakers for the games and 2 speakers top of my second moniter for ts and ts alone ...befor you as yes i run 10 speakers :p lol and 2 moniters :D .. i get no ecko or feedback of any kind .
as far as i know you can't split the sound in the 2zs for diferant things , but i have not tryed , nor have i see anthing in the set up or operation of it that would make my think it could be done ..

Now i'm sitting currently with a Digifire 7.1

What you are stating is an Alternative... but rather self defeating in the idea.

I myself have once sat with 7.1 and 5.1 all going at once... give me some boosted sound from the 5.1 arena....

but that's not the topic is about ATM ;)

I don't want to have to use 2 sound cards or 2 sound sources at the same time if i can just use one soundcard to do it all...

It shouldn't be to hard to do a call for "Sound channels" and be able to specify which channel or what channels to spit out the audio on....

The Digifire is way more flexible then an audigy 2 ZS..... .... so i'm not sure if creative... being how smart they are.... and how clean.... that they would allow channel calls for supported channels... i know the digifire would....

What TS needs, is an additional Options after selecting the sound device... If there is a simple test button, with a simple sound... .that'd be sweet as well....
