sound problems :(

Hi,

TeamSpeak is running fine ... but ... I can't get any other sound program (e.g. xmms, cedega, ...) running. I think it's because TeamSpeak is somehow blocking the sounddevice.

My system:

Toshiba m30-404
AC 97 (Sigmatel STAC975051T)
gentoo linux kernel-2.6.8 (alsa and oss emulation on)
kde with artsdsp (doesn't seem to work with teamspeak)

Would be really nice if anyone can help me so I can get rid of my windows partition. ;)

I think the problem is that team speak uses OSS and this is an old sound system, as today linux users use Alsa and Arts.

Team Speak have to make the linux client compatible with alsa and arts in order to make the games/aplications and TS work togheter.

is there maybe a possible solution by using dmix as software mixer, because I have no harware mixing suppor on my laptop and installing a new soundcard is quite impossible. =)
