can not connect to my server

I have a cable modem but no router..for some reason I am not able to connect to my own server.I can connect to others but they can not connect to me. Any help would be appreciated

always the same:

- DO NOT use the WAN IP within you own LAN => use the LAN IP
- If you're server is directly connected to the WAN, make sure no firewall is limitting connections to the TS server port.
- If you have a NAT'ed access (=> server has a LAN IP), setup a port forwarding

a few more infos about your server (what IP's you have,...) could be helpful
